• Lions & Tigers & Bears

Lions & Tigers & Bears Just seven miles south of Bandon, wild animals roam the West Coast Game Park Safari, providing visitors a rare and exciting opportunity to get up close and personal with some of nature's greatest creatures.

In its 40th year, the West Coast Game Park Safari - America's largest wild animal petting park - has been one of the most popular tourist attractions in Oregon.

The park specializes in hand-raised wildlife where visitors can interact with park attendees and nature. While strolling through the animal exhibits, visitors are joined by friendly free-roaming animals including deer, big horned sheep, llamas, antelopes, African pygmy goats, miniature donkeys and peacocks. Fun for all ages and especially for those who may have never experienced walking with all types of wildlife - who thrive on the attention - it's an experience not soon forgotten.

The parks comprises 21 natural, wooded acres where more than 450 exotic birds and animals live. In addition to the free-roaming critters, numerous exhibits of large predators and big-hooved wildlife bring the visitors closer to wild beasts than many have been before.

With more than 75 species spread over the park grounds, visitors can observe a rare snow leopard, Siberian tigers, lions, black bears, camels, ostriches, wallabies, bison, elk, chimps and much more.

Be sure to stay long enough to meet the park's newest babies. Throughout the day, park handlers introduce the babies and allow visitors the chance to safely pet and hold the little ones. The popular event presents a great photo opportunity for old and young alike!

The park also features a gift shop with unusual local and international items. Snacks, food and beverages are available.

The park is open all year with varying hours and it is suggested to call ahead to confirm the times they are open. Generally from March 1 through Nov. 30, West Coast Game Park Safari is open seven days a week. In January and February the park is open only on weekends and the park is closed during the month of December.

Those interested can call 347-3106 or write to the park at 46914 Highway 101, Bandon OR., 97411 for further information.
